About Jesus Culture Music

Music is an integral part of the ministry because first and foremost, we want to call a generation to worship. Our primary objective is to be with God — and worship is at the core of intimacy. We are compelled to bring a generation into the Lord’s presence, where they will experience His love and be healed and regenerated. Worship is touching God and exalting His name. This is the foundation of who we are; we are worshippers.
Jesus Culture began with worship, and worship remains the foundation of our movement. Kim Walker-Smith and Chris Quilala were the worship leaders for the Bethel youth group, and they continue to lead the Jesus Culture band as voices for this generation.
In 2008, we formed our own music label, Jesus Culture Music, which now features several different artists: The Jesus Culture band, Kim Walker-Smith, Skyler Smith, Chris Quilala, Kristene DiMarco, Bryan and Katie Torwalt, Derek Johnson, Mary Kat Ehrenzeller and Justin Jarvis.
The Jesus Culture band released its first live album in 2006 titled Everything. Over the past 5 years, they have produced seven full-length albums with their most recent offering, Unstoppable Love. Each album captures the heart of this generation — ablaze for God and yearning to encounter His presence. Fronted by Kim Walker-Smith and Chris Quilala, the Jesus Culture band includes Ian McIntosh playing keys, Jeffrey Kunde as lead guitarist, Brandon Aaronson on bass, Josh Fisher on drums and Skyler Smith on guitar. Each member of the band knows the weight of God’s call on his or her life and is dedicated to a lifestyle of worship. They are constantly working on creative ways to pioneer a fresh sound, while holding fast to their original aim: for people to be marked by an encounter with the extravagant love of God.

What is the future for Jesus Culture Music?

Our highest ambition is to continue releasing music that brings people into encounters with God. We also hope to encourage young worship leaders who desire to write the songs of revival and use anointed music to ignite an awakening. Our plan is to propagate worship leaders by cultivating them at a deeper level through training and discipleship. As a ministry, we want to create an atmosphere for song writing as we develop young emerging artists — the future voice of a generation.
